The study abroad trip with Northwood University was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. I met so many amazing people, saw beautiful cities, learned about other cultures and histories, and gained a better understanding of art and the artists behind the work.
Basilica

The Basilica is a Roman Catholic church designed by Antoni Gaudi. It is unfinished, and is currently under construction. In 1926, when Gaudi died at 73 years old, less than 25% was done. The Sagrada Familia’s construction was slow and relied on private donations. The Spanish Civil War affected construction, and it began again in the 1950s. In 2010, only 50% of the construction was finished. The pillars on the inside are designed to look like trees, with the branches moving out toward the top. There are beautiful stained glass windows designed to bring nature and light in.
