Palace of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles started as Louis XIII’s hunting lounge. His son Louis XIV then started adding on to it. In 1682, he moved the court and government to Versailles. The Grand Apartments of the King and Queen were built in the 1670s. The Hall of Mirrors is designed by Mansart.
